What To Expect At Your Consultation

Dear Visitor,

Thank you for your interest in having a consultation with us. My name is Peter Olsson, I am the owner and founder of Spine, Body & Health and through my passion and desire to help reduce peoples pain and suffering we have been able to treat over 16,000 people since we first opened 2006, something I am personally very proud of.

Now, if you are reading this page it means you have shown interest in having a consultation with us to help explore the pain you are in.

I am very sorry you are in pain, my team and I are more than happy to help and see if we can find the cause and (of course) a way forward to make life easier, better and less painful!

People always ask us what to expect at a consultation. This page has been created to answer any question you may have and to give you the clarity, comfort and confidence that we can make a difference in your life.

Find Us

Finding us is very simple.

We are no more than a 60 second drive from Bedford Train Station, and right on the corner of a roundabout.

Parking

We recommend parking in one of two streets next to our Wellness Centre.

Rutland Road or Grafton Road. They do operate on a one way system so you will be driving down Rutland Road first, it is also the closest parking to our Centre. You can see both highlighted in yellow on the map.

Parking is £2 an hour (up to 2 hours at a time) however, it is highly unlikely that we will keep you longer than an hour. Consultations usually take 30-45 minutes but we do ask for you to be here 15 minutes early.

You can either pay at the machine or download the ‘PhoneAndPay’ app where you can do it online from your phone but it will cost you 20p more for their transaction charge.

Your First Visit

When you turn up for your consultation one of our friendly reception team will give you a quick form to fill in. This form gives us some vital information about you and the pain you’re experiencing.

The team will be able to help you with any questions you may have, and direct you to sit down and wait for your consultation to start.

Please feel free to help yourself to a Nespresso Coffee or tea. You will also find various magazines, papers and books to keep you entertained while you wait.

Your Consultation

Once your specialist is ready they will come and introduce themselves to you and guide you to the consultation room.

First, your specialist will ask you about your medical history. Yes, you will already have put this one some of the forms but it always helps to hear it from you as well. This allows us to ask any relevant questions and dive a bit deeper to get the information we need.

Next, we will speak to you about the testing we feel we need to do to help diagnose your health concern. This could be a variety of our diagnostic tools including;

Computer Analysis of Posture
Thermography
Electromyography
Computer Analysed Digital X-Rays

These tests are done on an individual basis depending specifically on what you need. All these tests are completely pain free

Please Note: You will be required to wear only your underwear for some of the testing, so please wear appropriate underwear. We can provide gowns and shorts if they are needed.

Of course, we want you to be as comfortable as possible. Most of our consultations are completed by our Female Specialists however, if you would rather have your consultation performed by a man please let us know and arrangements can be made.

Once the consultation has been completed your specialist will take you back to reception where you can book your follow up appointment for a few days time, depending on your schedule.

Your Tests Are Expertly Analysed

Once all the testing has been complete our highly experienced team then get to work on analysing the results and agreeing on your recommendation of care.

We are very fortunate at Spine, Body & Health to have an extensive team of highly qualified experts with a combined 50+ years of hands-on experience.

All of our clinical team have university validated Health Care Degrees and are Certified Spinal Therapists. We also have team members who have Masters Degrees in Chiropractic as well as Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Science.

Simply put… you are in good hands.

Your Results

A few days later you will come back for your results. Again, while you wait please help yourself to tea or Nespresso coffee.

Your specialist (the same one you have already seen) will come and get you, take you to their room and talk you through the testing and results in simple-to-understand English.

Please feel free to ask any questions, especially if you an unsure and don’t quite understand. We are here to help and we want you to have complete clarity on what is being recommended.

Your specialist will then walk you though their recommendation of care for you. Firstly they will tell you if we feel we can help you.

If we don’t feel we can help you we will be open and honest about it and give you a recommendation on what to do next. It happens from time to time.

If we can help you, and it is usually the case, your specialist will lay out how many sessions they recommend and why, and talk you through the payment options.

Of course, just because you have had a consultation with us does not mean you are obligated to work with us.
